Frans started his career in the mining industry studying mining engineering during 1980. After the first year he made a decision to change discipline to the Financial and Management accounting field. He joined the financial discipline at Harmony Gold Mine and qualified himself with a National Diploma in Cost Accounting at the Witwatersrand Tecnikon whilst at the same time studied a B Com Economic degree at Unisa.

Frans gained substantial experience in Financial accounting, Management accounting and Project management during his 30 years in the mining industry. He also successfully completed the Management Development programme at Unisa and a Business Leadership Development Program at the Witwatersrand University which served him well with his involvement in implementing optimization and turnaround strategies inter alia on some the non-performing shafts. He fulfilled several roles as Financial Manager in the Corporate finance, Operations finance as well as in the Project Management departments.

During 2006 Frans started studying part time at the Unisa where he obtained several Certificates and Diplomas in Taxation and eventually concluded his studies obtaining a Masters Degree in Taxation with distinction at the Pretoria University at the end of 2010. During this period he spent time in the Taxation department gaining experience specifically in Mining Taxation.

Frans Left Harmony during 2010 and joined a Copper and Nickel Mine in Botswana for just more than a year as Divisional Manager Finance and Administration. He returned to South Africa after his contract expired and joined Great Basin Gold as Business Systems Development Manager. During 2013 he joined Wits Gold as Financial Manager Operations where he gained experience in Due Diligences and Acquisitions.

During 2014 Frans joined Aquismart as a Directors and has since been involved in consulting in the mining and mining related business sector.
