Mike is a director of Aquismart and has 27 years experience in financial management, focussing mainly on cost and management accounting in the mining industry. He is now one of the most respected experts in operational management on mines in South Africa.

Mike started his career as a learner official with Harmony Gold Mine in 1985. He finished his National Diploma in Accounting at Wits in 1991 and after national service remained with Harmony Gold Mine until 2005. During this period of around 20 years he completed his CIS and was involved with both financial and management accounting roles both at corporate and operational levels.

On leaving Harmony in 2005 he joined Uranium One for a year and in 2006 joined Harmony for a second time to take up the position as Operational Financial Manager overseeing the operational financial management for the group.

Mike left Harmony in 2007 to join Aquismart and has been involved with Aquismart since then on numerous projects for clients of the company which included financial management roles, due diligences, valuations, business planning, operational restructuring, system implementations and information management.
